Teresa Heinz-Kerry gave an incredibly boring speech, sorry to say. I guess it's more about the fact that potential First Ladies (hopefully one day it will be a First Spouse, meaning a guy) always have to deal with the oddities of trying to define themselves, even though they're not on the ballot. They're under no obligation to hold the same political stances as their husband, so it's not clear they need to state their positions -- but they also have to try to define their husband.

In any case, you're left with a lot of standard, supportive pablum. Canned goo, as it were. When it's that late at night, she needed to be more inspiring if she's going to occupy that much air time.

I missed Howard Dean's speech, so I have no idea how he came off. Reading the transcript, I wasn't impressed.
