Friday pet blogging and open thread

It's actually "almost-pet" blogging day, since we're one step closer to adopting Tonka (above). The Ridgeback Rescue coordinator said that Kate and I came out on top in terms of suitability for providing him with a new home! His prior owner went bankrupt, lost his house, and decided to give Tonka up to Rescue. That is at least more admirable than the former owners of our Lab/Weimeraner mix, Bailey, who was found running loose in a mall parking lot. Someone just dumped her off.

The next step is to meet Tonka and see how he gets along with Bailey and Chloe. If all goes well, in a few weeks we should have him. So,keep fingers crossed...
