Nancy Goldstein celebrates marriage and Pride month
Thursday, June 23, 2005
Nancy Goldstein, as usual, has a great column up at Raw Story (syndicated by PageOneQ). This week she has an interview with Hillary and Julie Goodridge, who in addition to being the plaintiffs in the case were the first same-sex couple to be legally wed in the state. It's a must-read.
As Nancy points out, over 6,000 same-sex couples have married in the state and $150 million has poured into the Massachusetts economy because of it. And in case you're wondering, all of the state legislators that supported marriage equality were re-elected. Take that, you paranoid homophobes.

Hillary and Julie Goodridge (with their daughter Annie), the lead plaintiffs in Goodridge v. Dept. of Public Health. Their case established the right of same-sex couples to marry in Massachusetts in late 2003.
